The State Museum of Pennsylvania is reopening to visitors on Friday, April 30, with reduced hours of operation and limited capacity. All visitors will be required to wear masks and social distance throughout their Museum visit. Capacity will be limited. Before your visit, please review our list of guidelines for visiting.
To ensure your space we are encouraging pre-reservation of admission tickets. Please visit phmc.info/SMOPTickets to pre-register. Member may reserve timed tickets also in advance. Walk-ins will be accepted, as well, on a limited basis.
Large Bags & Backpacks: Any bag larger than 12″wide x 12″ high x 4″deep are NOT allowed in the Museum, unless required for medical purposes. These bags will need to be stored in the Museum coatroom. The State Museum reserves the right to inspect any items entering the premises and are not responsible for any valuables or lost items.
Accessibility: The State Museum is handicapped-accessible. Individuals with disabilities or those in need of special assistance are asked to call (717) 787-4980 or the Pennsylvania TDD relay service at (800) 654-5984 in advance of their visit.
Food: Food and beverages of any type are not permitted in any of the Museum galleries. A snack bar with vending machines is available on the ground floor. The Museum does not offer inside space for large groups to eat.
Wi-Fi: Visitors are welcome to access our free wifi. The network name is “Capitol Complex Free WiFi”.
Smoking: Smoking is prohibited in all areas of The State Museum.
