Virtual Program – The Rise and Fall of the American Chestnut

Friday, May 3 at 12:15PM
The American Chestnut was once one of the most important hardwood trees of eastern North America. So what happened to this giant of the Appalachians? Join us for a virtual Learn at Lunchtime program with Joe Franckiewicz, environmental educator at Raccoon Creek State Park, to learn all about the history and ecology of the American chestnut tree.
Presentations begin at 12:15 PM and last approximately 20 minutes followed by a question-and-answer session. Registration is required to attend the free, virtual program. Once registration is complete, attendees will receive a link and password for the program.
