Homeschool Program: Pennsylvania Women in History

Wednesday, March 6 10am-12pm

Registration for this program is closed.

Examine the accomplishments of extraordinary as well as everyday women from Pennsylvania in the 1700’s, 1800’s and 1900’s. Explore objects from the museum’s collection that changed the everyday lives of women. Learn to make homemade butter, test historic recipes, design your own Victorian glass cling and create your own comic strip.

Museum curators and educators from The State Museum will lead seven programs designed specifically for Homeschool families. Families will experience a guided gallery tour and discussion about the day’s topic, then participate in a hands-on family activity. These programs will give homeschooled students and their families an opportunity to engage with museum staff, ask questions, and work together. After the program, families may continue exploring the museum and enjoy Q & A with staff. Each program begins at 10:00AM and is expected to last 2 hours. Programs will be open for a limited number of participants. Registration and pre-payment is required.

$5 per participant for State Museum Affiliate Members per program $10 per participant for non-Members per program.

At least one adult is required to register with each family. All program participants must pay a fee regardless of age. Fees are non-refundable.
