Virtual Program: PA Elk

Friday, February 21 at 12:15 pm

Elk are part of Pennsylvania’s history and once roamed freely across the land. Join Ben Porkolab, Conservation Education Coordinator with Keystone Elk Country Alliance for a virtual Learn at Lunchtime program on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 12:15 PM to learn about elk, from the extinct ancient elk to the native Eastern Woodland Elk which disappeared from Pennsylvania by the mid-1800s. Learn about the reintroduction of elk in Pennsylvania by the Pennsylvania Game Commission beginning in 1913, the unique adaptations that help elk survive, the current state of today’s herd and the importance of mating season.

Presentations begin at 12:15 PM and are followed by a question-and-answer session. Registration is required to attend the free, virtual program. Click here to register now.
