The State Museum of Pennsylvania is honoring the inauguration of Tom Wolf as the 47th governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by hosting a day packed with inaugural-related events.

On Tuesday, Tom Wolf will be inaugurated as the 47th governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.   In honor of this histotic milestone, The State Museum of Pennsylvania is hosting a day packed with inaugural-related events.

From an exhibit showcasing works of art by some of Pennsylvania’s most well-known artists to a chance to create your own inaugural quilt square, today is your opportunity to show your Pennsylvania pride.

Scroll through this list of events and attend one or all of the offerings.  The museum is open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today.

1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m.

The Inaugural Exhibit of the Pennsylvania Arts
1st Floor
This unique exhibit features the work of iconic artists from Pennsylvania’s history
as well as the works of a diverse array of talented living artists from across the
commonwealth.

The Inaugural Quilt Project
1st Floor Village Square
Create your own square to celebrate our pride in Pennsylvania and hope for the
future. See how your square will be joined together as we stitch together Our
Pennsylvania Quilt.

Back to the Moon for Good
Planetarium
(Screening every 30 minutes)
Immerse yourself in a race to return to the Moon 40 years after the historic Apollo
landings. See how the Google Lunar XPRIZE competition among privately funded
international teams is ushering in a new era of lunar exploration. Narrated by Tim
Allen. Fun for ages 8+.

York County Honors Choir
Auditorium
Members of the York County Junior and Senior Honors Choirs, which includes
student singers from grades 7 through 12, will perform a selection of songs for
guests.

Performance of Aladdin
Auditorium
The Popcorn Hat Players Children’s Theatre and Gamut Theatre Group present
Aladdin and his super-powered Genie as he learns an important lesson in
responsibility. Can Aladdin outwit the evil Fazeem and win the heart of the beautiful
princess? Remember, be careful what you wish for!
