Earth Day: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Thursday, April 18 at 11:30AM
What are your plans for Earth Day? Visit the museum to learn how long it takes items in the “trash” to decompose, the history of Earth Day and how what you plant in your yard can impact the environment.
Take home a ninebark seedling (supplies limited) to start a pollinator garden. Ninebark (Physocarpus opulifolius) is a cold hardy, flowering shrub. Pinkish-white flower clusters in late spring, persistent seed capsules and exfoliating bark adds to the seasonal interest. The flowers are a valuable nectar source to many Pennsylvania species of native bees, wasps, flies, moths and butterflies.
This program is included with general admission.
