The Department of Health (DOH) hosts a commemorative event to encourage interaction, enhance cross-cultural awareness, promote harmony among the workforce, increase mutual respect and understanding, and recognize the achievements of specific cultures or groups of individuals. We are pleased to announce the department’s inaugural celebration of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) History month — for the month of October, which is aligned with the national LGBT History Month celebration. There is no admission fee for the film.
“Out in the Silence” – This 2009 documentary chronicles the chain of events that occur when the severe bullying of a gay teen draws the filmmaker and his partner back to the town of Oil City, Pennsylvania. You can view the trailer at on YOUTUBE.
