Art of the State, recognized as the official, statewide juried competition for Pennsylvania artists, highlights artwork from five categories: Craft, Painting, Photography, Sculpture and Work on Paper. Opening ceremony is open to the public and starts at 1:30 PM. The Gallery and reception will open immediately following the ceremony.
Museum general admission is free for the day.
The 50th Annual Art of the State is recognized as the official, statewide juried competition for Pennsylvania artists. Jurors selected artwork from five categories, Craft, Painting, Photography, Sculpture and Work on Paper. The exhibit runs from June 11 through September 10, 2017.
Art of the State is presented by Jump Street and The State Museum of Pennsylvania.
Jump Street, a non-profit arts organization, has been serving the Capital Region for over 38 years, providing arts programs for students and adults; arts grants to artists and organizations throughout the state of Pennsylvania; arts-based community service programs; and technical assistance to artists and organizations.
