Join us for the third event in a special summer series of 3rd in the Burg August 18 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at The State Museum. Enjoy refreshments and interact with members of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen.
John Guarnera has served on various Board of Directors, including, the PA Guild of Craftsmen, Doshi Gallery and Harrisburg Art Association and currently sits on Boards of the PA Guild of Craftsmen and the PA Designer Craftsmen. Upon retirement, he has immersed himself once again in the making of clay objects. John has the freedom to not be solely focused on functional work. He now has the luxury of exploring his personal interpretation of clay and form. His work now, both simple bowl forms as well as more involved constructions are without direct functional use and are more sculptural and painting on clay. A focus on surface decoration and various firing techniques are utilized to enhance the surface. John is participating in exhibitions in a number of galleries in the area. His work has numerous awards over the recent past.
