Join us at The State Museum for the 2nd event in a special summer series of 3rd in the Burg July 21 5:30 – 7:30 PM. Enjoy refreshments and a tour of the 50th Anniversary Art of the State exhibition. This event is a collaboration with Susquehanna Art Museum (SAM) to inaugurate the “Great Summer Switch.” Tina Sell, SAM’s Director of Education, will conduct a tour at 6 PM of Art of the State, then visitors can walk up the street to hear PHMC’s Commissioner and artist Ophelia Chambliss give a tour of Art in Balance: Motorcycles and Fine Art at SAM at 7:30 PM.
The 50th Annual Art of the State is recognized as the official, statewide juried competition for Pennsylvania artists. Jurors selected artwork from five categories, Craft, Painting, Photography, Sculpture and Work on Paper. The exhibit runs from June 11 through September 10, 2017.
Art of the State is presented by Jump Street and The State Museum of Pennsylvania.
