3rd in the Burg

March 16, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us to celebrate nature indoors in The State Museum of Pennsylvania with the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation and the Pennsylvania Conservation Heritage Project. Learn more about Mira Lloyd Dock, “mother” of Pennsylvania forestry and the City Beautiful Movement, and of Gifford Pinchot, former Governor of Pennsylvania and forester, through two short documentaries produced by WITF. Hands on tree identification with Weiser State Forest staff and an appearance from Smokey Bear are also planned. This program is free as part of 3rd in the Burg. Refreshments will be served.

About 3rd in the Burg:
3rd in the Burg is a city-wide initiative to establish and maintain a vibrant arts and entertainment culture by forging connections between artists and merchants in Harrisburg, PA.

On the third Friday of every month, Harrisburg venues open their doors to streets full of culture lovers of all kinds. A collaboration begun in 2010 by a diverse group of galleries and businesses, 3rd in the Burg has grown into one of Harrisburg’s most vital and recognizable city events.
